Baroness Casey launches the Big Conversation on Social Care in England with the public
An Independent Commission on Adult Social Care is currently running under the leadership of Baroness Louise Casey. This may concern families affected by CJD as many of find themselves in need of Adult Social Care in order to care for their loved ones. This can be a confusing, complicated process, as Baroness Casey said in March when she recommended the Government take six immediate actions on dementia, motor neurone disease and adult safeguarding due to the urgency of the reform needed in these areas. Baroness Casey has now launched ‘The Big Conversation on Care’. The public can take part through a new online platform from today, 29th July 2026. The Big Conversation will run in two phases. The first phase of the conversation, from July to November, will ask people about the values and principles we should all expect from a care system and who should be eligible for support. The second will focus on how care should be funded and how reform should be delivered.
