Julia Davenne: A Celebration of her Life in Art – An Exhibition in Support of the CJD Support Network

If you are in London between 22nd and 26th April, 2026, you are invited to an exhibition organised by Emma McCallum to honour her sister Julia Davenne’s life and legacy. A concurrent auction of Julia’s art is already live. We are very grateful to Julia’s family that the net proceeds from both these events will support CJD research via CJD Support Network Research Grants, in the hope that Julia’s legacy will make a meaningful difference.
Exhibition: Julia Davenne: 1968-2024 : A Celebration of her life in Art
Auction live at Indy Auctions.
A CJD Support Network meet up will be held on Saturday 26th April. Visit here for more details.
Celebrating Julia Davenne’s extraordinary artistic journey, these two events bring together works created over more than three decades. Julia was educated at St Martin’s School of Art and the Royal Academy of Arts, London, where she developed her distinctive, award-winning practice. In 1998, she won a scholarship to attend Trondheim Art Academie and stayed in Norway for five extremely happy years. Emma shared that this period of Julia’s life became her most profoundly influential as an artist – Julia and ‘nature’ became one.
Six years ago, the Brecon Beacons, now known as Bannau Brycheiniog, in Wales became Julia’s creative haven. She built her own art studio and painted in between renovating her ‘forever’ home. It was here, in 2023, that Julia was tragically diagnosed with the rare and incurable Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease and died in 2024, age fifty-five.
These events honour Julia’s life, talent and enduring creative spirit.
