The CJD Support Network Executive Committee meets quarterly to ensure that the charity is governed in accordance with its aims. We have been very fortunate since 2020 to have the support of Lisa Denton, assistant treasurer, who has given generously of her time and compassion to ensure the smooth running of the charity’s finances. Lisa has recently stepped down from her role and we would like to say a huge THANK YOU on behalf of the whole UK prion disease community to Lisa for her hard work.
In other Executive Committee news, Lizzie Hill – talented scientist and dedicated EC member – recently completed her PhD at the MRC Prion Unit. We say a massive CONGRATULATIONS to Lizzie on all her hard work and wish her all the best as she takes up her new post doctoral post.
Finally, we would like to say a warm welcome to Andrew Takoushis who – following last night’s Annual General Meeting – joins the committee. Andrew first became involved with the CJD Support Network in 2017, when his partner was diagnosed with iatrogenic CJD. Andrew has been a valuable community member since this time, and we are sure is a familiar face to many, we are delighted to have him on our Executive Committee.
