Earlier this year, Marcella’s lovely mum Joanna passed away with sporadic CJD, just seven weeks after her diagnosis. International CJD Awareness Day is the 12th November. This year, it also happens to be Marcella’s 50th birthday! The coincidences don’t end there, the CJD Support Network will be holding an informal afternoon meeting on the day at a restaurant called Di Bosco in West Yorkshire (click here for details), and Bosco is the name of Marcella’s dog!
With these coincidences in mind, Marcella decided to raise some funds and awareness of CJD. She and her mum had lots of plans for her big 50 – including raising a glass – so Marcella has set up a JustGiving page asking friends and family to buy her a virtual ‘drink; for her birthday. A fantastic tribute and wonderful way of raising awareness in memory of her mum.
