Research grant applications – now open!
The CJD Support Network is committed to supporting research, where our funds enable us to do this. We therefore offer periodic research grants, aimed at supporting young researchers and increasing communication between them and the people they ultimately work to help – families.
We are currently inviting applications from researchers at UK institutions for use by young researchers who work on prion diseases, to be used over a period of up to three years. Grant applications can be made up to a total of £25k. A maximum of one grant may be held by a single Institution. Proposals concerning collaborative research between two institutions will be considered.
The research project can be in any area concerning CJD and related prion diseases but preference will be given to projects concerning human disease, especially diagnosis, care and treatment.
Successful applicants would be expected to present on their work, at the CJD Support Network Family Support Meeting (in the Autumn each year), typically at the beginning of the award and after completion, and to provide information for inclusion in Support Network news and communications.
To be sent a copy of the application form and for more information, researchers should contact [email protected]
The call for proposals is open until 9th June 2023 and applicants will be informed of the decision after 30th June 2023.
